Preschool provides the children to enhance their motor skills – Several activities performed by the children under the supervision of teachers help in the development of a child’s fine motor and gross motor skills. Children are encouraged to run, play games or climb. Children are also taught to balance and are even asked to thread beads that help in hand-eye coordination. Preschools make sure that your child is making friends and enjoying all the fun activities that will aid in their social, emotional and personal growth. Preschools will help in providing a way in which the child will be able to learn what he or she is going to learn in future. For instance, by providing worksheets for kids, the child will get an idea of what will be taught in future in a fun way.
If you are looking for printable worksheets for your preschool child, the array of choices can be a little intimidating. You may just be looking for a few pages to keep your child occupied with something more constructive than yet another half hour in front of the TV, or you may feel it’s time you started helping your child learn the basic skills she or he will need for school.
There are many opportunities to teach your child how to count. You probably already have books with numbers and pictures, and you can count things with your child all the time. There are counting games and blocks with numbers on them, wall charts and a wide variety of tools to help you teach your child the basic principles of math. Mathematics worksheets can help you take that initial learning further to introduce the basic principles of math to your child, at a stage in their lives where they are eager to learn and able to absorb new information quickly and easily.
When they are writing, concentrate on their pencil grip as well and make sure they get that right. It will take a long time for the kids to develop a proper grip – just keep correcting them and in time they will get it. Preschool worksheets can be quite helpful to teach the kids various new things – from alphabets to numbers to language development. Don’t hand over the worksheets and expect them to complete the task. Sit with them, help them and participate in the activity as much as you can. It will also make the activity a fun exercise. Plus this way you can also monitor their progress.
Learning centers provide many opportunities for integrated learning. While playing in an imaginary grocery store, children learn math through the use of numbers and prices, literacy by recognize familiar labels on foods and develop social skills through role play as the shopper, cashier or manager and develop their physical skills by learning how to arrange cans and groceries in make-up shelves. Put down those boring worksheets! The best way to teach your preschooler to write is to use simple preschool writing activities that make learning fun. To be ready for kindergarten, your child needs to know how to cut and paste, copy simple shapes, trace vertical and horizontal lines, trace his or her name, and hold crayons, pencils and scissors correctly. The first step to teaching the above is strengthening the small muscles in the hands and wrists that are used in handwriting. This process is often referred to as building fine motor skills. You can encourage fine motor development by having your child use art supplies like crayons, paints, markers, glue and scissors. Lacing activities, stringing beads and cheerios, playing with playdoh, scooping sand or rice, and activities like pouring and stirring are also great fine motor activities.
Shape your child the way you want. If you want your child to be a good speaker, you must always read and speak to him. If you want him to be a musician or a simply a music lover, sing to him or let him listen to music. Hugs and touches together with words of ”I love you” can make him a loving person. The more new things he will be exposed to, the more he will learn. Developing other skills require variety of different stimuli. Though your child may not necessarily be a genius but pre-schooling him means preparing his mind and equipping him with the tools he needed when he goes to school.
