Preschool is where the child for the first time gets to step out of the comfort zone. This is when for the first time they have to stay away from their parents. A preschool is designed to make the children ready for the future. A playschool should be a place where the child feels like home. There are several preschool activities that help in making the children feel secure and be comfortable.
A step-by-step set of preschool worksheets will introduce new challenges to your child – skills and concepts they have not yet learnt. With your support and encouragement, your child will learn these new skills, achieve their goals, and gain confidence that will be vital when they start kindergarten or school. Starting ’big school’ brings a lot of changes into a child’s life, and your child needs to believe that he or she can face new challenges and cope well.
Preschool leveled students will also respond to special activities related to the story. Examples include: A story show and tell; Announce the story of the week and ask the students to participate by bringing in an item that relates to a part of the story. Incorporating Sign Language; Teach the students special signs that relate to the story line. A story treasure chest; Fill a small box with surprise items related to the story. Prior to removing an item from the chest to share with the preschool students, provide a brief verbal description of the item, then have the class guess what the item could be. The variations are extensive and are only limited by the vision of the instructor.
There are many benefits to be gained from using homeschool worksheets with your children. They can easily satisfy the specific needs or requirements for your child or you, the parent-teacher. They can provide enrichment if you need to supplement the assignments included in the core curriculum. Sometimes a child becomes really engrossed in a topic and wants to dig beyond what is presented in the textbook. In this case, an extra printable could give him additional information or activities to complete.
Do not over do the activity though. Spend only a limited amount of time each day. It is important that kids enjoy the exercise otherwise they will soon start hating the entire learning process – and this is not good news. If your children have older siblings then you can get them to do their activity when the older ones are doing their school work. Do not stick to a rigid scheduled – going with the flow usually works for me. Some days they might not want to do any writing – and that is okay. May be do some painting or reading on these days. See how you child is on that day and adjust your teaching scheduled accordingly.
